SS AMU SAT is a pioneering initiative by the students and alumni of ZH College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) to design and launch the first satellite of Aligarh Muslim University. Conceived in November 2021 at AMU RoboClub, the project officially began in December 2021. Pre-feasibility studies were carried out for 3 months before initiating preliminary designing.
The project received support from multiple agencies and experts who contributed to the design of SS AMU SAT. It took over a year to design the satellite and the team finally applied to the IN-Space for approval.
The IN-Space agreed and provided the consultation of Sh. C A Prabhakar, Former Project Director ISRO. He graciously reviewed the design and optimized for acceptance by the IN-SPACE. After seven months of rigorous work, the team was given approval by IN-Space to develop the Satellite. Thereafter, the SS AMU SAT achieved its first milestone - Signing of MOU in Dec, 2023.
Since then, the team is working to realize the project which includes the following subsystems:
🛰️ Payload
⚡ Electrical Power System
🧭 Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS)
